Laura Welch Bush Elementary hosts a Two-Way 80/20 model Dual Language program, in which Spanish-speakers AND English-speakers have the opportunity to learn 2 languages. Unlike other language programs whose aim is to have all students become proficient in English, the goal of Two-Way Dual Language is to produce students who are bilingual and bi-literate in both Spanish and English. Laura Bush is one of only a few schools in Pasadena ISD offering this program and the only campus offering the 80/20 model.  Enrollment is limited, and in order to participate, parents must apply and students must be accepted into the program.
