A Message from the Superintendent

Pasadena ISD Community,

Pasadena ISD has been made aware of inappropriate and insensitive comments made by an employee regarding the passing of Charlie Kirk. This situation is being addressed administratively, and we want to assure our community that comments of this nature are taken seriously. These remarks are not aligned with the values, standards, or expectations of our district.

We regret that these comments were made. Pasadena ISD is committed to maintaining a respectful and compassionate environment for all.

We extend our condolences to Mr. Kirk’s family, friends, and all those mourning his passing.

LUNCH VISITS

 

Lunch visits at Laura Bush Elementary will begin on Monday, September 16, 2024 for Kinder through 4th grade students.  With the number of students on our campus and the size of the cafeteria this year, we are restricting the number of lunch visits per child to 3 times per month. 

We will not have lunch visits for students in Pre-K because their lunchtime is for them to build important independence and socialization skills with their classmates. 

As you visit with your child(ren), please keep the following additional points in mind:

  • There should be no more than 2 visitors per student.  As stated above, we simply do not have the seating to accommodate entire families of visitors.  
  • Your Bush student AND all younger children that are with you should remain seated at all times.  The traffic patterns in the cafeteria do not allow room for children to play. 
  • Sitting your school-age child in your lap and/or “spoon-feeding” your school-age child is not an advisable practice, as it does not help your child to develop the independence that is developmentally appropriate and important at this age. 

 

 

DELIVERY OF LUNCHES OR OTHER ITEMS

 

We are VERY protective of your child’s ACADEMIC TIME in CLASS.   Classrooms cannot be disturbed during the school day.

Please make sure your child arrives at school with all necessary items.   We understand that on rare occasions there are extenuating circumstances that would require you to deliver an item to the campus for your child, such as a forgotten lunch.  Any forgotten items must be received on campus by 10:00 a.m.   At 10 a.m., we will take the cart of deliveries to the pods and drop them off without interrupting class.    No other deliveries will be made throughout the day and classes will not be contacted by phone. 

***Birthday cupcakes or treat bags that are brought to school after 7:45 a.m., will be returned and parents will have to bring them back the next day between 7:15 and 7:45 a.m.
